【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsmaybeusedforqualitycontroltestingofestablishedgradesofcarbonandgraphitematerials,inthedevelopmentofnewgrades,andforotherpurposeswhererelativestrengthlevelsaretheprimaryquantitiesofinterest.Thistestmethodmaybeapplicableonlyiftheratioofspecimendiametertograinsize,orflawsize,isgreaterthan5.ThesetestmethodsdonotsubstituteforthatdescribedinTestMethodC749,butareusefulwherelesssophisticateddataandlessexpensivetechniquesaresufficient.Carbonandgraphitematerialsexhibitsignificantphysicalpropertydifferenceswithinparentmaterials.Exactsamplingpatternsandgrainorientationsmustbespecifiedinordertomakemeaningfultensilestrengthcomparisons.1.1Thesetestmethodscovertheapparatus,specimen,andproceduresforthetensiontestingofcarbonandgraphitemechanicalmaterialswithagrainsizesmallerthan0.79mm.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.2.1Exception8212;Allofthefiguresaredimensionedininchesinaccordancewiththeoriginalstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
